Amoeba

Diagram of an amoeba.

An amoeba eating a paramecium (single-cell organism with hair-like organelles).

I find it amazing that an organism like the amoeba exists and can consume other microscopic organisms as food... This tells us something - that food and the consumption of it are all part of instinct and a pure need to survive. Such is life, that a bigger fish will always get to eat a smaller one... Is it possible for all sentient beings to be vegetarian?
