Family

Family is important.  Although we don't get to choose who our family members are, they are the ones who hold us most dear.  They are the safety net and cushion whenever things get too hard to bear...  It has often been someone from the family who has pointed out the silver lining just behind that dark cloud.  There are also friends who behave like family, and although some lines are necessary here and there, it is obvious when friends with hearts of gold reach out to help in one way or another... Whether it be providing a listening ear, or providing company in person and a sounding board for decisions that need to be made... Family members are always there.

I am blessed to have a good family and numerous friends who insist on behaving like family...  I have no complaints about this and welcome all my friends to show themselves as my family.  In an age when the internet and mobile applications have taken over, it is very important to have family and friends who are chatting with you on a daily basis...  What on earth would we do without our mobile phones these days?!  You don't have to answer that because I have already thought about it, and most of us would seriously get withdrawal symptoms if we were not allowed to touch our mobile phones at least three times a day.  Try counting how many times a day you touch your mobile phone to check a message or chat or Facebook, and you will understand how addicted we all are...

So, in the end, it is family that counts, and family that gets you through all the ups and downs, come what may.  I am forever grateful for the family that I have, and this includes all my friends who behave like they are a part of my family too...
