It seemed like not so long ago that I visited the Taj Mahal - one of the seven wonders of the world! In a blink of an eye, eight years have passed and I no longer feel as youthful and wide-eyed as I used to be... All it takes is one good shot and it works - a photograph can conjure happiness and momentary bliss - a moment in time captured as a memory. It was a good trip to Delhi, followed by an unforgettable trip to the mountains of Ladakh...
That's where I met Star - an amazing Shaman lady from Mexico - who led us all in a few important rituals and prayers for "World Peace"... I will always remember the amazing shamanic rituals that empowered us as individuals, and gave us a glimpse across the veil - the spiritual side of life that we are all a part of. Thank you Star, for giving us a trip to remember! It was amazing to have met you and the Crystal skull you work with. You helped all of us find the light within, and the memories will forever be etched in our hearts and minds...
There were many temples in Ladakh that we visited, and this was one of them... These three mini temples were part of the ruins left behind on a thousand year old site and the reason for their existence remains mysterious even today. Ladakh is a magical place, full of ancient history and the many sacred sites there add to the mystery of how life came to be on planet Earth and what we are all still doing here today...?
I was naughty and sneaked a photo of one of the Buddha statues inside one of the temples found in Ladakh, so here it is - after eight years of recovery from the trip - it took a long time for me to be able to look at the photographs I took during that trip. Buddha, please forgive me for taking this image. I share it with those who yearn for the spiritual side of life...
Here is another photo I took in a temple - this one is of Kurukulle - the red deity, considered to be one of the most mysterious teachings in Tibetan Buddhism... Kurukulle (Ku-ru-ku-leh) is a fierce mother goddess who protects all relationships, even romantic ones. She is also known as the Dakini of magic and enchantment. She is considered as an emanation of Amitabha Buddha - one of mother Tara's forms.
A big thank you to Seng, who was with me during the trip, and responsible for some of the beautiful photographs and memories...
